STORY
A wealthy family of Indian decent relocates to a small town in Minnesota for an
unsurpassable job opportunity. Hilarity ensues as the tight-knit community
intersects with the new residents. Emotions are high, especially when the family's
teenage son falls for the small-town teenage bombshell. Will the Indian family re-
think their move or will they be cooking Lutefisk and baking seven-layer bars with
the locals in no time?

CHARACTERS
The play includes roles for 4 men and 6 women in lead roles and a few additional supporting casts.

Ages listed are approximated for reference, but most of the characters' ages are
less important than their ages in relationship to each other. We are committed to
a socially conscious and equitable casting process. You are invited to bring your
whole self.

Ravi (40-45):
Indian decent husband/dad. Typical IT software professional. Well
to do. Interested in technology, latest gadgets, electronics and all things modern
and shiny! Loves sports (especially Cricket). Leaves the running of the house to
the wife.

Radhika (35-45): Indian decent Wife/Mom. Very nervous, over-reactive and
anxious. Worries about everything. Under confident about her own skills and
abilities. Always tries her best to please everyone. She's an executor and gets
work done.

Rohit (can play 16-18): Indian decent son. Teenager. Quiet and shy. Excels in
academics, but his true love is the arts. He's creative and expressive through art.
Feels forced to go by the rules of the family and is unable to truly express himself.

Sunila Aunty "Sweetie" (60-65): The Indian decent mother-in-law (Ravi's mom).
Thick Indian accent, but speaks English. Nosy, curious, inquisitive and funny. She
can be a trouble-maker but means well and is always good at heart. Her ways are
sometimes questionable! She is always dressed in a saree. She is quite tech
savvy for her age and is constantly on her ipad/ipod/phone. Is more interested in
what is happening in the neighbor's place than her own! Overbearing and
dominant mother figure in the family.
